What is Wound Care?
August 10, 2018
For seniors who have illnesses that may cause chronic-non-healing wounds, wound care can be an important part of aging in place. As we get older, our bodies are less efficient at healing open wounds, so seniors who undergo surgery or suffer an injury may have a hard time healing without a little extra help. When left untreated, open wounds can quickly become infected, which can cause larger, even life-threatening issues.
There are a wide variety of reasons why someone may need wound care, and wound care is one of the most important jobs of your home health aide. It’s also one we take very seriously at LifeSource Home Health!
